OVERVIEW

What Is Tax Audit Under Section 44AB?

Tax audit is a mandatory examination of books of account by an independently appointed qualified professional under Section 44AB of the Income Tax Act, 1961. It verifies that financial records accurately reflect income, deductions and tax liability for businesses and professionals above specified thresholds.

The auditor prepares Form 3CA or 3CB (audit report) and Form 3CD (statement of particulars with 44 clauses). The report is e-filed on the Income Tax portal. Corporate Mart provides preparation, reconciliation, coordination and filing assistance — the audit opinion itself is issued by the professional you appoint. We do not act as your tax auditor.
